Pom Pom Duster Using GloveIf you have any leftover wool (anything but baby wool, too thin) make some pompoms out of them leaving a long strand attached at the end. Then thread a darning needle with the long strand and sew them onto the palm and finger areas so it's quite fuzzy. Makes a wonderful duster or car washing mitt! Fred Watching TVMy name is Fred and I think I am 7 years old. I am a shorthair extremely large cat. My owners got me at the local animal shelter in 2001. I had been there the longest and they felt sorry for me. They found out why someone gave me away.

Teff - A One-Horse-Powered Lawnmower Here is the coolest, most "green", one-horse-powered lawnmower anyone could ever have! This is Teff, our 6 year-old, miniature, "sea"-horse. Since we got him at 8 months old, he has kept the lawn on our lighthouse station mowed beautifully. How does he travel, you ask? He's been by both ship and helicopter and takes either mode of transportation quite in stride.

The Best Times are Priceless - Jaylan (7 months)I live in a very small, rural community. Entertainment such as a theater, nice restaurants, etc. are at least 60 miles from me. With today's hurried world, I believe we tend to forget that the best times don't cost us a penny... but are priceless. Walking down a country lane with your dog during the fall, simply to admire the beauty of the leaves. Smelling the freshly mown grass as you rest in your lawn chair at dusk, after you've mown that grass. And my personal favorite.... sharing bath time with your precious grandchild! This picture is of my 7 month old granddaughter, Jaylan, playing while she takes her bath. As I previously stated, these memorable times don't cost us anything, but are none the less priceless.

Recipe for Chili - Cook While You WorkThe only ingredient not pictured is green onion. The medium hot salsa gave it a nice flavor. I like dumping the ingredients in the crock pot before heading to work, setting the heat to low, adding chopped Kielbasa and onion when I get home, giving it another hour or so to heat, then enjoying my "home made" chili with crackers and a beer.

The Hungry SquirrelNot sure if this qualifies for a pet, but I feed and water them just as I do my other pets. Only problem is the squirrels get up before I do. This is what I saw out my kitchen window this morning as I was pouring my first cup of coffee. The jar has popcorn in it and I usually spread it out on the blocks, but guess he was hungry and the blocks were bare.
Once I fed them, the other 10 or 12 showed up for breakfast buffet.

Loudy the CatThis is me and my cat, Loudy. I have never been a cat person. Loudy showed up one night and sat on my porched and meowed all night. She was pregnant. She had her kittens and after they were older I had animal control pick them up to see if a home could be found for them. The animal shelter is located over 10 miles from my house. The next evening I heard a cat meowing on my porch. I walked out and there was Loudy. I guess she walked all the way back from the shelter. This convinced me that she belonged at my house and she has been with me ever since.
Cat Chairs - Bunnie and TCI have been looking for something to keep the kitty cats off the couch and bed. I found this Mini Mushroom Chair at Walmart and one of the kitty cats Bunnie (Bobtail), love's it. I also bought two large basket's at AC Moore's for $7.00 and with the coupon they were $5.00.
Moosh - "Don't Take my Picture!"Moosh is moody and likes to be left alone often.
On this particular day, the camera was not his "friend". He is 1 year old. If you ask him his breed, he'd say human. We took in his momma and she was pregnant at the time. He likes to lay in the sun, sleep, eat, and chase birds.
Chopper (Pitbull)The puppy is one that is from one of my pitbulls. I am a breeder and his name is Chopper. If these dogs are raised right there as sweet as any other dog. He's a male and six weeks old. He was from a litter of ten, 8 boys and 2 girls. I am hoping he will be accepted as a guide dog for the pitbull program for the disabled.
Transpanting PlantsThis photo was taken with the Fine Pix camera which I am PROUD TO SAY was won from Thriftyfun. It is proof that a growing plant can be transplanted from one spot to another if carefully and properly done. The tall Lilies were growing in the middle of my son's flower bed, which looked out of place. I carefully dug it up making sure not to cut the bulb in the process.
Jake (Leonberger)Our Leonberger Jake on his second birthday. Jake was born with severe hip dysplasia and had two major operations a year ago to reseat his hip joints. Without them he would have been dead by now - unable to get up. As you can see he is a happy happy fellow, full of fun.
Lawn Watering Tip!Don't water your lawn at 1 in the afternoon when it's 86 degrees. We have had no rain to speak of in more than 2 months.

Protecting Backyard Wildlife From a Cat?I have a duck nesting in my backyard. There are about 7 eggs inside and they're due to hatch anytime now. The problem is the cat next door and the owners who refuse to do anything about it. We've patched the holes in the fences, bought cat repellent, set a cat trap loaned to us by our local animal control, and rigged some wire fencing along the top of some of the entry ways on the fence.
Fish Theme BathroomI decorated my bathroom "fish theme" spent less than $5 on paints by using the basic colors red, blue and yellow and mixing them up to get secondary colors.
Lance (Lab X - A New Family Member)Last week Sasha, Silver and Steel received a new "brother" named Lance. Of course Lance was found in a shelter in Sacramento. He wasn't feeling well and able to be released to him new home right away. My daughter-in-law and son went to visit and work with Lance after work to get him ready for his new family. He is so sweet and a great addition to the family. I thank the ThriftyFun family for the wonderful comments on this family of pets. You are all special to me!
Making Your Own Inexpensive Shower and Party FavorsInexpensive favors for showers and parties can be made by molding your own candies using Wilton candy molds and Candy Melts. These are inexpensive and can be purchased at any store which carries Wilton brand supplies. I have made hearts, wedding bells, Teacups and Easter suckers.
Feed Your Plants - DayliliesFor best results, don't forget to feed your plants, too. Especially when you can't water them as often as you like with water restrictions and lack of rain. You can buy a cheap plant food at just about any discount store.

All About Felix--A Tribute to a Dear BuddyFelix was spoiled rotten. He was jealous of the computer, did not like for me to read a newspaper, or go to bed. He would attack me and then run and hide. He was fastened on a leash and chain when I let him outside. He would give you five, shake your hand and sit up and beg, and he would lay down when I told him to (mostly if he was going to anyway--you know how independent cats are.)
Cat in a Box - Homeless?We have started to kitty sit for the last 4 years. He is 5 years old and is a mixed long hair kitty. He loves to play and also loves to be alone in a quiet place of his own. When he stays here, we feels like he is homeless.
