Buckley Homestead Geese - gray geese in a pen

Buckley Homestead GeeseOn a recent visit to Buckley Homestead County Park in Lowell, Indiana I was greeted by two noisy and curious farm geese. Buckley Homestead is a late 19th/early 20th century working farm. I enjoyed stepping back into the past for a few hours and visiting with the animals.

Loving a Chicken - tan and white hen closeup

Loving a ChickenI save my food scraps to take to my neighbor's chickens. There is one little hen that gets out of the pen most every day. When she sees me coming, she runs down the path to meet me and follows me to the pen. She lets me pick her up and put her over the fence back into the pen. She wants to eat too.

Malaysian Bred Chicken - eating

Malaysian Bred ChickenSeeing the greens around with this colorful Malaysian bred chicken is such a wonderful morning view. It's fresh and soothing to the eyes. What I like most about this photo is the chicken being caught in the act of keeping a nice posture as it feeds. And it felt like I had just a wonderful day seeing this!

A goat wearing a hat at the fair.

Goat Wearing a HatAnd for no particular reason, here is a goat wearing a hat. This goat appeared at my local library's annual lawn sale. She appeared to be very proud of her hat, and posed for me while I took a few photos.

Bull Parade (Angus and Shorthorn Mix)

Bull Parade (Angus and Shorthorn Mix)If I would have tried to get my 3 bulls to line up by size, they would of never done it. But, a few days ago, they walked around all day long in the pasture single file, by size. I have not seen them do that before or since, but I did get a photo when I was back checking fences.

Calf Feeding from It's Mother

2 young bulls in yard

Wildlife: Wandering BullsThese two wandered onto our property this past Sunday. I was afraid they would knock over the grill, but they caused very little damage and were quite docile. A nearby neighbor provided feed, which kept them from wandering further, until the owner could pick them up.
