Cracked Porcelain Doll CostumeI had the opportunity to dress up two days in a row for costume parties this year. I chose to be a cracked porcelain doll out of items I already had in my closet. Here are pictures of my makeup both nights.

Halloween Costume: ClownI used a plastic trash bag and painted it with red and white. I doubled the trash bag and glued on. I got big tennis shoes and painted them red, got a yellow shirt. For the suspenders, I used plastic white tall kitchen bags and velcroed them to the pants.

Halloween Costume: Cheerios and MilkThis was actually very easy to make. I got a couple of cardboard boxes (the right size for my kids). Then I found pictures on the internet and printed them out in several pieces and glued them onto the boxes.

Saving Money on Halloween CostumesAs fast as children grow, they outgrow their clothes fast, usually meaning less money in your wallet. Before this Halloween, either shop for gently used Halloween costumes either at yard sales, or your local thrift stores before buying a costume at a retail store. It is much cheaper than renting one or buying one.
