Sauerbraten over noodles with a dollop of sour cream.

SauerbratenMy sister and her family were stationed in Germany in the 1990s. She has shared a few German dishes with me. This is one of my favorite.

German Bologna SaladCut the bologna into small strips. Cut the cucumbers, onions, apples, tomatoes and carrots also into strips and mix with bologna. Cut the eggs into eights (save some for garnish).

German RunzasAnother favorite of my husband. Thaw dough. Brown hamburger and add onions and spices; drain. Mix with cabbage or sauerkraut. Roll out one loaf of dough into a 12x8 inch rectangle.

German Skillet DinnerI guess you can call this an international meal. :) I really think the only thing that makes it German is the sauerkraut!

German Sausage DishNot quite sure why I like this one so much. Could it be my German heritage? Hmmm, not sure, but it is very tasty!

Schnitzel with Ham and Caper SauceBrush chops with lemon juice; season with salt and pepper. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes; pat dry. Brown in hot vegetable oil in large skillet. Reduce heat; cover. Cook until done (20 to 25 minutes). Remove to warm platter.
