Make Cake Pops From Leftover Cake (April Fools)I got this great idea after my kid's birthday party when I noticed all the half-eaten cake left on all the kids' plates. I thought to myself, "What a waste!" So I came up with this tip, you can make cake pops from those leftovers! I know what you are thinking right now, I am a genius, right? Why have I never thought of this before? This way you can make some little cake pops and your kids will be so excited.

tacos on plate

Frying Tortillas for TacosThis is just another way to fry up your corn torts when making tacos. It seems to make them taste more "authentic" and gives the corn tortilla a bit of the meat flavor too, and the tortillas get the little "crumblies" of meat cooked on them that have fallen out of the shells.

Mint Oil in pan

How To Make Fresh Mint OilI grow a lot of mint in my garden. I use mint in salads, to make mint oil for cooking, and also to make tea. Fresh mint is easy to grow and needs a lot of sun and water. I use the oil to cook fish, to make salad dressing, and also as a bug repellent. Did you know that many bugs won't bite you if they smell mint?

Honey and Lemon for a Cold

Honey and Lemon for a ColdHoney has many good health benefits and the shelf life is endless. Although I would not want to eat it, I have read that honey, that was still edible, has been found in ancient tombs. I keep local honey on hand all the time. I purchase it by the quart and keep some in a pint jar on the kitchen stove.

Aluminum Free Baking PowderThis is homemade baking powder that does not contain aluminum. I like it, since I want to keep aluminum out of my family's diet, and it works just as well as store bought baking powder.

Gooey Buns RecipeI am looking for a recipe from the 1950s or 60s. They were called "Gooey Buns" and contained cubes of ham, hard boiled eggs, cheese (Velveeta?) and some other ingredients? Then the mixture was placed in hot dog buns, wrapped in foil and baked in the oven until melted and gooey. I loved these when I was a child and my Mom made them often. Thanks for the help!

Recipes With Fresh Produce Instead Of Packaged FoodsAnyone have recipes for meals on the cheap using more fresh ingredients from the produce department (fresh veggies especially). Of course packaged foods are much cheaper, but I'd like to avoid high sodium content and the myriad of preservatives in these items whenever possible.

Other Ingredients for a Pork Sausage Crescent RollRecently, I had a baked sausage/cream cheese filled crescent roll. I understand you roll out the crescent rolls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Then, you add the cooked pork sausage that has cream cheese in it, then cover with another sheet of the crescent rolls and bake until lightly brown. I do not know what other ingredients are used.

Looking For Special and Thrifty Recipes That Are Suitable For Diabetic DietsOnce a month my craft group of about 20 senior citizens ladies has a buffet birthday lunch. I need some recipes that are a little special, thrifty, use common ingredients, and suitable for diabetic diets. Because we have a 2 hour class before the luncheon, the food must be prepared early in the morning or the night before. A refrigerator and microwave is available. If the recipe serves 6 to 8 it would be enough, as one spoonful from each dish soon fills a plate. I prefer veggie or salad recipes, but one using some meat would work for me also.
