Making an Easy Bead Pendant

April 24, 2008

Simple Beaded PendantThe pendant shown here was made from "recycled" jewelry: I will often buy used necklaces, charms, etc. at thrift stores and yard sales, take them apart, and make new creations with the beads and other parts.

Approximate Time: less than 30 minutes

Supplies:

Instructions:

Cut a piece of beading wire approximately 5" long with the wire cutters. Loop the wire through the charm. Thread spacer through both pieces of beading wire. Thread crimp bead. Squeeze crimp bead tightly with needle nose pliers. Alternate beads till pendant is desired length. Thread crimp bead, top bead, and jump ring - using the wire cutters, cut excess wire to less than 1/2 inch. Loop wires through the top bead and the crimp bead, and gently push through the other bead holes. Squeeze crimp bead tightly with needle nose pliers. Thread necklace through the jump ring and proudly wear your new pendant piece.
