How do I paint Formica countertops?
By joyce from Lakeland, FL
We used the SpreadStone Countertop Finishing Kit from Daich Coatings to cover our ugly old laminate countertops in the kitchen and we were thrilled with the results.
The product is actual stone and you just roll it on very easily with a small 4 inch roller. This was a perfect product for me since I wanted something that could be done quickly and easily (with no artistic skills required) on a smaller budget.
The Daich kit gave us a brand new stone countertop for less than $150. It's been almost a year with no problems at all.
On our recommendation, my wife's brother used the kit to upgrade his bland 60s kitchen prior to putting his house up for sale, with equally nice results.
We would recommend this product to anyone!
If anyone wants to check out the product, it can be found at www.daichcoatings.com.

How can I restore the color to 17 year old Formica counters?

Not sure exactly you want to do, but Rustoleum has a countertop paint on the market now. No primer or sealer needed, and it's antimicrobial. I'm going to faux paint mine to look like granite, but if you don't want a long process, maybe take a look at what Rustoleum has to offer.
