I use one in my car as a mini trash can and when it's full just empty it and put it back. They're also perfect to store all those small kitchen utensils you don't use very often that clutter the drawer like corn cob holders, small condiment spoons, seafood forks etc. :-) I especially like your idea about using them for balls of yarn instead of paying extra money for the knitting yarn holders!

I do want to mention that I rarely purchase brand new containers anymore because it's so much more economical to buy the refill wipes in bulk.
