Growing Italian Cypress Trees?

August 27, 2014

Italian Cypress TreesI live in northwest Houston and bought this tree for the area that lines my front walkway leading up to my front door. The temperatures here reach as high as 105 degrees on a rare day and usually stays above 95 degrees unless its pouring down rain. What is this tree's chance of survival?

Can I plant Italian cypress trees in the Dallas area? Would they thrive in the hot and dry summer weather here? I need tall trees by my back fence to block out some obnoxious teens who live in the 2-story house behind me; I'd love to sun or even just read on my patio, but can't because of them.

Thank you!
