Decorating for Christmas, House Decorated for ChristmasA nice holiday tip I ran across while surfing the net was to add holiday touches to items already around the house, like putting bows on figurines, etc. I think that's a great idea and will use some gratis ribbon I got to put red bows on some of mine. And then after the holidays, it's easy to clean up and store!

We have a tradition at our house after our Thanksgiving meal; our adult children and grandchildren hang large Christmas ornaments in the trees in our yard.

I adorned my dining room table with a red plaid tablecloth, poinsettia place mats, and red table napkins. The centerpiece was a small artificial Christmas tree with a burlap bottom.

An idea for Christmas decorating is to use wrapping to wrap framed art work you no longer want or are tired of. Put a nice bow on it for a finished look and hang on the wall.

These bubble or globe shaped glass containers are great for painting to use as decor for any holiday. Fill with candy or a battery operated tea light. Try your hand at one today.

Light is an important part of celebrating Christmas and the holiday season. Use a lantern as a festive decoration in your home.

Check your local Christmas tree lot for free trimmings. They can be used to make garlands, wreaths, bulk up an old faux tree, and more.

Branches trimmed off a Christmas tree are used to decorate a fireplace mantle or shelf.

The first decoration I always put out right after Thanksgiving is the nativity set. Mine is Precious Moments and made of porcelain so it goes on the server, not under the tree.

Glue mirrored tiles to ornament hangers or pieces of ribbon, then hang from your Christmas tree for a beautiful and sparkly look. You could get by with using less lights due to the reflection these tiles will produce.

To give your couch a cute decorative look for Christmas wrap your throw pillows in red, green, or plaid dish towels or fabrics and secure at back with safety pin, this will make them look like Christmas presents. You can even add gingham ribbons or wire ribbons that will hold a bow etc.
