Fixing a Sagging Couch

April 12, 2020

Fixing Little Bumps Under Couch Fabric - bumps under microfiber type fabricMy couch is a few years old and definitely out of warranty on the cushion aspect. The cushion is not easily removable which is why I haven't tried anything myself. What are these weird bumps under the fabric and is there anything I can do about it?

It looks like there has been friction on the fabric (on the underside) probably caused by just normal use of the couch.
This is called 'pilling' and it would be the same as you can get on your clothing as this is caused by friction also.
I do not think you can clean this up unless you can remove the covers from the cushions and remove the pilling from the inside of the covers.
If the covers can be removed then you can use any of the same methods normally used for removing pilling from clothing.

This might help:

This is normal wear and tear on the couch and it looks like the foam under the material has an issue. I really don't think there is much you can do about this.

I know they sell some nice couch covers that are easy to put on. Some of them even have a backing on them and it makes a nice looking cover when put on.
