Removing Hair Dye from a Painted Door?

Dana, have you tried Mr Clean magic eraser? it may not take it off right away but subsequent scrubbing will make it fade. I have had this happen on painted white walls and this eventually removed the stain. Good luck!

Not a good idea. It will take the paint off.

Pikka, you are a lifesaver. I accidentally splashed hair dye onto a bathroom door this morning and thought my husband would have a fit when he saw the huge purple stain it left behind. Thankfully dabbing bleach onto the white paint worked a treat. I left it for a minute or two before washing with plain water.

I had red hair dye on my door and I used Commet bleach on it with a tooth brush and it came off no issue

I got dark brown hair dye on a cream shiny surface cupboard door, tried spray bleach didnt remove, so I got hair bleach 40volume peroxide and added heat with hair dryer it took about 4 times of getting it off and redoing but eventually with a lot of rubbing it came off .

I am a 14 year old girl who Dyed my hair purple I am sure you can guess with out my moms permission and I got purple hair dye all over my bathroom door that is white all I did because I am a teen and upstairs at night while my mom is downstairs watching TV And in school I am a professional art student at my school we take our classes I just took some of my paint are used for school and just painted it on the door it worked like a dream my parents never noticed its been a year!!!
