If your cookies or brownies crumble and fall apart, don't despair! Just use them to make yummy ice cream sundaes -- put the crumbled baked goods in the bottom of a dish, top with ice cream, chocolate or caramel syrup, whipped cream, nuts -- let your imagination run wild!

Using a regular brownie mix that you purchase at the store, you can make your brownies POLKA-DOTTED. Make the mix up like you would for cake-like brownies and pour the batter into an insulated pan.

Then, sprinkle on top of the batter any kind of "kiss-like" piece of candy...

What is your favorite brownie recipe (or mix) which doesn't include frosting, marshmallows or caramel? I'm seeking both standard brownies and embellished ones - cream cheese, raspberries, cherries, etc.

I have added chopped up candy bars to a box brownie mix and it was pretty good.

I dont' have any favorite, I just throw in some chocolate chips, maybe some chocolate syrup swirled on top before I bake (makes a nice chewie sticky texture). In ANY boxed mix, I always add vanilla to give it a little bit more "real" flavor.

FUDGE BROWNIES

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 - 1 ounce squares unsweetened chocolate,
melted and cooled

3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans, or almonds

Oven setting 350 degrees

In medium saucepan melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Blend in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts; mix well. Spread in greased 8x8x2-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Be careful not to over bake. Cool. Cut into 16 squares.

Substitute baking cocoa for the squares of unsweetened chocolate.

3 level tablespoons of cocoa + 1 tablespoon oil = 1 square (1 oz.) unsweetened baking chocolate. Just double this for your 2 squares of unsweetened chocolate.

I submitted my recipe for Fudge Brownies, and don't have a clue why the measurements did not post the way that I copied and pasted them from my original recipe.

I contacted thriftyfun technical support and hope that this problem can be corrected. I see that technical support fixed the problem.
