How to Make Graduation Cap Treats

Graduation Cap Treats - finished grad cap treatsYou can make graduation cap treats for your graduate with some cookies and candies. You can have the candy colours match the school's colours. This was for a red and gold school. These are so easy to make and super cute! Congratulations, class of 2017!

Total Time: 20 minutes

Supplies:

  • chocolate graham cookie squares
  • large peanut butter cups
  • chocolate chips
  • M&Ms
  • Twizzlers Pull and Peel candies
  • microwavable bowl
  • Popsicle stick or chopstick
Graduation Cap Treats - supplies
 

Steps:

  1. In a microwavable bowl, melt the chocolates in the microwave at 30 second increments until they're just melted. This chocolate will act as the glue between the parts.
  2. Graduation Cap Treats - melt chocolate chips in microwave
     
    Graduation Cap Treats - stir with a fork until they are just melted
     
  3. Turn a peanut butter cup upside down and apply some melted chocolate to the middle. Top with a chocolate graham cookie.
  4. Graduation Cap Treats - turn peanut butter cup over and add a dab of melted chocolate

  5. Dab some melted chocolate onto the top middle of the cookie. Apply one M&M candy.
  6. Graduation Cap Treats - add a dab of melted chocolate to center of graham cracker

  7. Cut your Twizzlers into three, lengthwise. Take apart 2mm worth of one side so it flares.
  8. Graduation Cap Treats - cut Twizzlers in 3 lengthwise and separate ends a bit
     
  9. Add some melted chocolate next to the M&M in the middle and attach the Twizzler. Now you have the center button and tassel.
  10. Graduation Cap Treats - use melted chocolate to attack the Twizzler tassel
     
  11. I like to curl the end of the tassels so they look dramatic!
  12. Graduation Cap Treats - you can curl the ends of the tassel
