  • 2 oz. shredded coconut
  • 6 oz. whipped vanilla frosting

  • 12 Nabisco famous chocolate wafers
  • green, yellow and red food coloring
Marshmallow Witch Treat Ingredients

Directions:

First, spread a small amount of frosting on the back of the mini chocolate chips. We used a wooden coffee stir stick for applying the frosting and it worked great. Place 3 mini chocolate chips on each marshmallow, 2 for the eyes and 1 for the nose.

Next, take your shredded coconut and place it in a small ziplock bag. Put a few drops of green food coloring in the bag with the coconut. Squish the coconut around to spread the food coloring as evenly as possible. We used 3 drops so the green would be dark and vibrant. You can use more or less as you wish.

Mixing Green Coconut

Pour the green coconut into a small dish. Then spread some more frosting around the sides and back of the marshmallows. Next, roll the marshmallows in the coconut so it will stick on and be the witch's hair.

Assemble the witches hats by spreading a little frosting on a wafer and use it to stick an upside down peanut butter cup to it. Put some frosting on the bottom of a chocolate kiss and set it on top of the peanut butter cup.

Chocolate Candy Witch Hat

Spread a little more frosting on the bottom of the assembled hat to attach it to the top of the marshmallow. You're almost done!

Last, use the remaining frosting to make an orange band to finish the brim of you witch's hats. Mix 5 drops of yellow for every 1 drop of red food coloring. We doubled that amount (10:2) so the orange would nice and bright, not pastel.

Mixing Food Coloring For Orange Frosting

Apply the orange frosting around the base of the peanut butter cup with a small cake decorating squeeze bottle, bag or even just a plastic sandwich bag with corner nipped off. Next time I will probably do this step while assembling the hats but this worked fine also.
