Mine just started dumping the water also..I am trying to find a solution..it has to be the gasket below where the water bottle sits. I just haven't had time to take it apart yet..when I do I will post it for you.

I had just fixed the belt on my Hoover carpet cleaner. It had worked perfectly fine with the hose but it wasn't working as a regular carpet cleaner obviously because the belt was broken. I took it apart, put the new belt on and all the sudden now the water completely comes out within a minute onto the floor. I didn't even press the handle or anything, it just came out and it did suck the water back up but there was a long thick plastic piece that I could not find where it would go. I have searched YouTube and could not figure out where this piece would have went.

Can anybody help me figure out how to fix this? I had let somebody use it and all the sudden it's broke and they had put bleach in it so I did clean it out but there must have still been bleach in there so now I have a half bleach carpet.

I just bought a brand new Hoover pro clean pet carpet cleaner. The problem is I took it out of the box and it won't stay standing upright? Is there something that I'm missing here?

Seems like something's either missing to keep it locked into place or something's in the way of it to lock.

Found this comment in the Walmart reviews; might help. <Secondly, getting it to stand up and lock...you have to push down the handle release with your foot, and push the handle as far forward as possible, then let go of the release.

Once you do it a couple times, it gets easier, and you won't have to hold down the handle release with your foot any more to get it locked.>

Your Hoover pro clean pet carpet cleaner must be very sturdy in the upright locked position, without wiggling.
Check again if you assembled it correctly.

The manual says tti.a.bigcontent.io/.../FH51010-manual-v2:

2. HOW TO ASSEMBLE

2.1 Stand base in upright position. Push handle onto base.
2.2 Turn dial counter clockwise to LOCK position. Dial
should stop when locked and handle should feel secure.
2.3 Place clean water tank securely on handle above dirty
water tank until it snaps into place.

Here someone also had this problem www.amazon.com/.../ref=ask_ql_psf_ql_hza?isAnswered... (Affiliate Link): "When in upright position, does this unit lock securely? Mine wiggles between top and bottom container and with minor push tilts on the ground. Normal?"

Answer: "No, that isn't normal at all. You may want to secure you containers. It should lock and stand securely. Is everything level underneath? Turn it upside down without the containers and do a visual. Other than that there is a manufacturer's contact telephone number on the booklet__you may want to call them. It should not topple over."

It sounds like your latch could be broken and therefore it is hard for you to attach it back on the cleaner. I would suggest that you order a new part to make it easier to put it back together.

Here is a site that sells the latches that you'll need to repair your cleaner. www.repairclinic.com/.../Hoover-Carpet-Cleaner-Latch-Parts

It sounds like your latch may be broken but difficult to know unless you know that it 'broke off'.

You might want to be sure that you can install a new latch.
Contact your local Sears Service Center and explain what happened to them and they can tell you if you need a new latch. They also have parts and their parts usually include instructions on installation.

You can also ask questions or order parts on several sites:

You may need a manual but model number will be necessary:

My Hoover dual power pet max shampooer handle will not stay upright or lock into place. It's like a piece is missing?

I don't want to have to spend hours on the phone if it's not something I can fix. Has anyone had this problem?

My Hoover Spinscrub steamVac cleaner just started leaking water from the bottom. Even when my lever was not off (not squirting water) the water was still leaking from the device. When I was drying the carpet with the vacuum, it was still squirting water (which made drying it useless).

Can you please let me know what I can do to fix this?

My Hoover Pro Max 60 Model number FH50220 shampooer is leaking water. I fill it with clean water and detergent and it's empty in less than a minute.

It's leaving water marks on my carpet because so much water leaks out.

This sounds like you have a gasket problem with the tank and the machine. You may need to change out the gasket because they do get old and no longer seal correctly when the tank is put on the machine.

I have a Hoover Spin Scrub 50. Water is leaking from the water/solution tank. How do I replace the grommet on the outside where the water tank sits and get the stick, the spring, and the grommet back inside the water tank?

This is pretty handy to do. First make sure that your cleaner is unplugged, and there is no solution in the container and it dry

It could be a problem with the water base assembly or the filter in the machine. If the filter is not pushed all the way up this can cause the water to leak. Check the pump assembly and make sure the hose is not cracked or leaking. If it is you should order a new one.

I've had my machine for a year or better. I went to use it one day and the roller wouldn't roll and made this loud noise. It wasn't cleaning my carpet. We took it apart to check the belt and the belt is OK. So what could be the problem? I paid too much to just let it go.

Help me please.
