A heart drawn in chocolate. Here's something different for a fun Valentine treat :-)

Ingredients:

Directions:

Place a chocolate kiss in the center of a wonton wrapper. (Keep remaining wrappers covered with a damp cloth or paper towel until ready to use.)

Moisten all four corner edges of the wonton wrappers with water; pinch corners together over candy kiss and press to seal. Repeat. In a large skillet, heat 1 inch of oil to 375 degrees F.

Fry wontons on their sides for about two to three minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels and dust with sugar.

Source: Found these at Taste of Home a couple of months ago and had forgotten about them until just now looking up Valentine recipes in my recipe file folder.

My family has made these cookies for many years. every time I get out the faded recipe card, I think of all the memories on Valentine's days in the past both in making the cookies and the smiles that are always there when I serve or give them away.

Normally, I recommend avoiding sugar as much as possible - but once in a while (like on Valentines Day) it's okay. :)

A Valentine's Day dessert. My Mom used to make this for for my Dad and she would prepare it in the Angel Food cake ring. She wrapped the pan's outside in foil to decorate it, and placed a bud vase, with a rose in it, in the middle.

I baked a scratch (no cake mixes) devil's food cake for our senior citizen luncheon. It's not the most beautiful decorated cake, but I think you get the idea.

Regular cho-chips. you can also add nuts, rice crispies, coconut, etc. put a mini marshmellow in the funnel first, keeps the chocolate from dripping out.

My Sister in Law used to make my brother a giant heart shaped chocolate chip cookie each year for Valentine's Day. I don't know if she still does or not.

If you don't have a good recipe for one, you can usually buy them at the local shopping mall, all decorated, for any occasion.

I would try Allrecipes.com since they have holiday themed recipes including Valentines day. Also kraftfoods.com has several and verybestbaking.com does too.

A great recipe that is so easy.
1# pkg chocolate sandwich cookies
1/2 gallon ice cream (I like pepermint stick for this)
12 oz whipped topping, thawed

Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies, reserve about 1/3 cup of crumbs.
Mix the crumbs with thawed whipped topping.
Spread in bottom of 9 X 13 pan. Cover with the softened ice cream.Sprinkle reserved crumbs over ice cream. Put in freezeer, and use anytime you desire. Will keep long time.
You can use a pink ice cream for Valentines or Christmas day, and a green mint for St Patricks day. Use your imagine and a flavor you like.
