November 19, 2017

Any ideas on how to decorate a red Mustang convertible for a Christmas parade? The theme is the 12 Days of Christmas.

I'm wondering if you need to use all the 12 days of Christmas or you can only use 1.

Since you have a convertible it would be fun to pick one of the 12 days and use your car for this day. For example you could pick the 3rd day and talk to people in the music department at schools and see if you could borrow 3 French horns.

As for the other days of Christmas this one would be sort of hard unless you decided to go to a craft store and get some foam ducks or geese. You could then get some large Christmas ribbon and use this on the front of the car to iie a giant bow in the middle and make a V up the hood to the windshield. You could use the 3 doves on the front of your car and get some large rings and paint them gold. You could use these on the back of the car.

I wouldn't decals on your paint on the car or even use a frost color spray paint like snow on the car. This is very hard on your paint job. Just use ribbon, foam birds, rings, and things like this. I like the 3 French horns in the back seat and maybe you can get a member of the band to dress up like a elf and sit on the top of the back seat playing the horns.

We have a 1952 Ford F-1 truck which is entered in our Christmas Parade. The theme is "Christmas Greetings". I need ideas for decorating the truck including the bed. I have to be very careful not to damage the finish so I'm quite limited! Thanks!

I think I would want to cover a ton of boxes with wrapping paper for presents and fill the back. Each box could say "greetings" in a different language. Or if people will be riding in the back they could sit on the boxes and each could hold up a sign with "greetings" in a different language.

If the truck is classic I wouldn't even worry about decorating it. Or maybe you could do something in the back with a 50s theme. Sounds like a fun project to me!

I would suggest christmas bows and ribbons, some garlends, if the parade is at night you could put up some battery powerd christmas lights, you could put a small christmas tree in the bed (fake or potted) you could decorate the tree just a little and it would come of very christmasy!

If you can use audio make a tape of someone saying Merry Christmas in different languages and play it as you drive along. If audio is not allowed decorate a tree with the phrase Merry Christmas in different languages.

How about some snow? I would line the bed of the truck with the rolls of the "snow" blanket (let it hang over the side a little) you can get at the craft store and then you will not only have a base for your decorations, but it would also protect the truck. You could even made a wooden platform if you wanted the tree, etc. to be more visible. I would then go "retro" with a silver tree with the lights that go around shining on it and play 50's Christmas music. Around the tree, I would continue a 50's malt shop theme with maybe a coca cola table (if there is room), a malt shop"counter" (against the cab of the truck) and kids in 50's winter clothing sitting around listening to the rock n' roll Christmas music either on stools at the "counter" or at the table, sipping Cokes or malts.

I would also put neon red and green lights under the truck (if it would be ok with the owner). It could be as extravagant or as inexpensive as you want. Good luck!
