Fresh Strawberry Pie
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups granulated sugar
6 tablespoons cornstarch
PREPARATION:
Cook sugar, cornstarch, jello and water until thick; cool. Place whole berries in the baked pie shells. Pour sauce over berries and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
Serve with lightly sweetened whipped cream or whipped topping.
I don't know if this is what you are looking for -- the only cornstarch is in the Jell-O -- but this is quick and no bake, great for a hot day!
2 graham cracker crusts
fresh strawberries
1 small box strawberry Jell-O
Put strawberries in crust. Make Jell-O according to package directions. Pour Jell-O into crusts.
I learned this in home ec 40 years ago and I'm still using it. It is so simple and good -- it never fails to impress! You can make this with almost any fruit(fresh, frozen, or canned).
2 cups water
4tbsp cornstarch
1 1/4cup sugar
1 small box strawberry Jello
add cornstarch and sugar to the 2 cups of water. Boil unil thick and clear; add Jello. Cool slightly and then add berries. Place into a prepared graham cracker crust or baked pie crust.
I have a delicious strawberry pie recipe. for the crust cut 1 stick softened butter into 1 1/4 cups flour. Press into pie pan or baking dish. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes, then let cool. For the filling; place 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tbs clear Karo syrup, 3 1/2 Tbs cornstarch and 1 cup water in sauce pan.
I am looking for a strawberry pie recipe served many years ago at Beverly's Restaurant in Sedalia, MO. It had a cooked crust, powdered sugar, and fresh strawberries. Does anyone have a similar recipe? It doesn't seem to have cream cheese, but maybe some lemon flavoring. That's about it. Thanks.
