When I use it I Shampoo and condition then rinse then condition with just a little bit to take out the smell of vinegar. I have never used lemon juice with it though! Hope this Helps!
My hair is to my waist. I use vinegar in a spray bottle after the conditioner. Works very well for me! Suz
I read this on a hair dresser's web site and it works great for me. Put about 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar in a bottle with a spout (like a hair color applicator bottle) and fill the rest of the way with water.
Hi, Donna,
I have waist-length, naturally-curly faded red hair. (I call it cinnamon-sugar, lol!) I tried the vinegar rinse once. I washed my hair as usual first. Before I got into the shower, though, I mixed 1/4 cup white vinegar and 3/4 cups water. I didn't have a spray bottle so improvised as best I could. I used a clean, empty gallon milk jug. After I'd washed and rinsed my hair, I trickled my pre-mixed concoction over my hair and rubbed it into my scalp and along the hair shafts until I'd used up all of it. Then I stood up, turned the shower back on, and rinsed thoroughly.
I learned one thing very quickly, though, keep this stuff out of your eyes, it stings like crazy! Oh, one more thing. Since my dandruff is chronic and I forget myself constantly and scratch, the vinegar mix also stung my head like crazy! It was worth it, though. My hair was soft, fluffy and manageable. And, since it's just hubby and me and I rarely go out, we didn't care if I smelled like a pickle for a few hours! I really need to try this again, and do it regularly.
Save money and get beautiful hair! Save the last empty shampoo bottle, half the new bottle between the new and old ones, then in the empty space, fill it 1/3 with white cider vinegar and the rest of the way with water. No need for conditioner, and the suds are phenomenal !

After shampooing your hair, pour 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar on clean hair. Let this soak about 5 seconds, wash with clean water.
Want your hair to really shine? Put vinegar mixed with a little water in a spray bottle. After shampoo and conditioner, towel dry a bit, spray it on and comb through.
When you add the vinegar to your hair, do you have to wash it with shampoo afterwards?
