I put my ribbon into a small white basket and thread it through the holes. It stays organized and is easy to access.

I have several dozen large spools of ribbon, many that are wired. Any suggestions on how to store them and save space at the same time.

I store my ribbon spools on the long plastic wands that are used on mini blinds. I save the wands when I replace my blinds. Then slide the spools on the wand and either put the wand on a piece of wire or the wire shower curtain holders so they can be hung in the closet out of sight.
I have an old lamp chain strung between two hooks hanging from the ceiling. I also have lots of rolls of ribbon, so I did the same thing I did with all my "designer" duct tape. I untwist a wire hanger (leaving the twists intact so I can just twist it back together), straighten out the rest of the hanger, and bend in half. I load the rolls onto the hangers, retwist the ends together, and hang from the chain hanging from my ceiling.
