Homemade Hair Care Recipes

Hair Volume

• 2 Tbsp. conditioner
• 2 Tbsp. Epsom salts

Mix, then apply to wet hair. Wait 20 minutes and rinse.

Shampoo

• 1/4 cup water
• 1/4 cup liquid soap

• 1/2 tsp. light vegetable oil (omit if you have very oily hair)

Mix. Store in a empty shampoo bottle.

Herbal Shampoo

• 1/2 cup water
• 2 Tbsp. dried or 1/3 cup fresh chamomile, lavender or rosemary
• 1/2 cup shampoo
• 2 Tbsp. glycerin

Mix together the water and herbs. Heat on simmer until it looks like strong tea. Let stand for about 25 minutes. Add shampoo and glycerin, stir well. Pour into a bottle. Leave overnight to thicken.

Beer Hair Treatment

• 1 cup beer (fresh or flat, cheap is great!)
• 1 cup shampoo

Heat beer using medium heat until it is reduced to about 1/4 cup, then add it to the shampoo and mix. Pour into a bottle.

Favorite Hair Rinse

• 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
• 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 3 cups distilled water

Mix and use as a final rinse

Herbal Oil

• 1 part dried herbs
• 2 parts olive or almond oil

Mix well and put into a container. Let stand for 2 weeks. Make sure you shake it every day. Strain the oil into a bottle with a lid and refrigerate until ready to use. Work the oil from roots to ends. If you have oily hair, apply to ends only.
