June 9, 2014

Tender rib eye steak on a grill.I've always been afraid to use meat tenderizer - if it can do that to meat, what is it going to do to my intestines?

The meat gets cooked. When the meat cooks, the tenderizer is also cooked and at that time it looses its ability to break down foods.

But the reality of it is, you can do the same thing to meat by soaking it in coke. And, when you drink coke, its not neutralized by cooking.

It just breaks down the membranes on the meat. You can accomplish the same thing by marinating in salad dressing with a vinegar base

You can, but it won't be as strong.
