Don't spend a fortune on expensive non-skid items. Instead, use pieces of rubberized shelf-liner to create a non-slip surface. A simple square makes a great portable non-slip surface or try super-gluing a circle to the bottom of your favorite mixing bowl.
Note: I wouldn't recommend you glue this stuff to anything you plan to heat using the stovetop, oven, or microwave.

If the liner is silicone it would be safe. I would not chance it if it were not.
Because of what it s made of,all sorts of chemicals within this product, that give off fumes, surrounding everything cooked or warmed up.(Note) most items will tell you if they are microwavable.Be safe!
If you are looking for something to keep the microwave clean, I would avoid anything rubber or plastic. Paper is wasteful so I would avoid that, although I have friends who swear by the super cheap paper plates as liners.
You could use a microwave safe glass plate. Just be very, very careful when you remove it and check frequently for cracks. I recently burned my finger pulling a glass bowl from the microwave. I did not realize it had a crack and while it did not break in the microwave (I have had that happens) it conducted heat differently and it got very hot. Ouchies!

Are you wanting the liner to help contain spills or are you wanting something to keep dishes from 'slipping' or moving around?
I many times use a microwave 'pan' under something that has a tendency to overflow.

If you are wanting something with gripping power then something like this may work. These are oven and microwave safe (see description half way down page).
Will shelf liner cut to fit inside a spiked caster cup protecter to help so that the bed leg won't slip inside the cup. The bed leg is 2 1/2 inches and the caster cup is 3 inches.
I would stuff something inside the cup to stabilize the leg. The shelf liner may be too stiff or slippery. You will have to try it out.
THE SHELF LINER THAT I WOULD USE IS RUBBERIZED. NOTHING SEEMS TO SLIP WHEN PLACED ON TOP OF A KITCHEN COUNTERTOP.
Hi,
I would use the non-slip material that you put under small rugs to keep them from slipping. I have seen similar material at the grocery store for $1.00. It is really nice, and nothing slips on it.
