iced Cinnamon RollsThese cinnamon rolls can be made any time of the day and in a short time! With using short cuts like crescents rolls and a few added ingredients. That can be eaten warm or room temperature with a great cup of coffee, tea, or milk.

Prep Time: 15min.

Cook Time: 12 to 15 min.

Total Time: 30 to 40 min

Yield: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg. crescent rolls
  • 1/4 cinnamon sugar or brown sugar
  • Icing
  • 2 Tbsp soften butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tbsp milk

Steps:

  1. Open and unroll crescent rolls to form a sheet.
  2. flatten crescent roll dough
     
  3. Sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture evenly on dough.
  4. sugar and cinnamon in bowl

  5. Take one end and roll, forming a loaf. With a sharp knife cut into 6.

  7. Place on baking paper or non stick cooking sheet. Pre heat oven on 350 degrees F.
  8. Cinnamon Rolls on baking sheet
     
  9. Soften butter in a small bowl. Add powder sugar and milk. Whisk slowly blending. Set aside.

  11. Bake 12 to 15 min. Wait about 3 min. then add icing. Yummy!

The frozen bread dough that comes in the 2 or 3 packs, makes great rolls. I think there are even directions on the package. Can also make cinnamon pull apart, defrost and let rise, melt butter and make a bowl of cinnamon sugar. Coat pan with butter and take walnut size pieces of dough, dip in butter, roll in cinn/sugar, pile in pan.

Bake and yummy! It's messy, good for the kids to get to do, because you'll get messy one way or another. Can also sprinkle raisins or any other chopped dried fruit in with the layers of dough as you stack. Hope that helps some.

CINNAMON ROLLS
(Yield: 15 Servings)

2 cups "JIFFY" Baking Mix
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup soft margarine or butter
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preheat oven to 425°.
Grease 11"x7" pan or muffin pans.

Blend Baking Mix and milk. Turn onto surface dusted with Baking Mix and knead about 20 times. Pat or roll dough 1/4" thick rectangle 8"x15".

Spread with soft margarine and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll as for a jellyroll. Cut into 1" pieces. Place in prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes. Serve warm.

If desired, while warm, frost with "JIFFY" White Frosting.

I used this recipe and made these cinnamon rolls, but had to add more jiffy mix wasnt enough to knead it. I made my own icing with milk, powdered sugar and vanilla.

These are SUPER EASY and delicious any time of the year.....not just Christmas!

Christmas Eve Shortcut Cinnamon Buns
Makes 20 buns

These are made the night before and popped in the oven Christmas morning
when the kids are attacking their stockings!

20 unbaked frozen dinner rolls (Bridgeport is a brand I have used)

1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, melted

Lightly grease a 10 inch bundt cake pan. Place frozen
rolls into the pan and sprinkle with brown sugar, the pudding mix,
and cinnamon. Pour melted butter over the top. If you dont have a bundt
pan, you can use a muffin tin, but they turn out better in a bundt pan.

Cover with a clean, damp cloth and leave overnight at room temperature to
rise.

In the morning, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Bake rolls for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
Turn rolls out onto a serving plate and dig in!

Sprinkle some butterscotch pudding mix (not instant) in with the cinnamon sugar mix - about 2 cinnamon/sugar mix to 1 pudding. M-m-m-m! I adapted this idea from a recipe off the Rhodes bread dough website.

I'm asking for your help on helping a friend find a recipe that her Mom used to make. (Her Mom is in a nursing home and doesn't know or remember much any longer, sorry to say.) My friend says it's along the way you make cinnamon rolls, but you use cottage cheese as a filling, along with cinnamon and chopped nuts. Thanks for any help!

At Wal Mart I found a CD titled 'One Million Recipies' I am not certain that there are actually a million on there, but there are a lot. Everything from kid-friendly recipies, diabetic, crock pots...so maybe that will help. It cost $9.99 so, much cheaper than most cookbook with a lot fewer entries.

Also, maybe looking at online sites for cooking. If you are interested in 'secret recipies' from your favourite restaurants, go to www.topsecretrecipies.com and there are a lot of good recipies there.
