Cookie CuttersAlthough you may be tempted by cute designs, you may be better off purchasing cookie cutters based on material and sharpness. Heavy-duty metal cutters are more likely to have sharp edges that can cut neatly through cookie dough. Avoid plastic cutters, which often have quite dull edges, as well as flimsy metal ones than can make for sloppy cutouts. Cheap metal cutters also rust easily.

Brand new cookie cutters can be quite expensive. The reality is that many people purchase cutters and then don't use them. Quite often you can find cookie cutters at the thrift store that are like new.
