My mom is turning 50 this year and my sisters and I don't have a theme for her party. Any suggestions?

Some people are depressed about getting older so you may want to do something very fun and crazy. I think Hawaii 5-O would be a great theme. I was impressed with having lived 1/2 a century when I turned 50. You could do a theme with all the inventions and changes in the last 50 years. It's amazing how things have changed in 50 years. Good luck.
Since she was born in 1960 why not do a sixties theme? Steak n shake has cardboard kids meal cars that could be used to put cups of flowers inside for center pieces. A hamburger and sundae bar would be cute and you could make poodle skirts to wear.

You can cut out invitations in the shape of a pan and say you are cooking up a party for your 50th.
You can just print out a card that says "Supper is ready!" with a when/where/time :)

We had to get manager permission to do group emails. That is the easiest way...add cut clip art to your message, but not always possible.
If everyone in the area is in the clerks and carriers group, then a cute note posted in the kitchen or coffee area would be appropriate.
If there are others and you can't do an email or public post, then you could pick up some cute invitation from the dollar store and pass them our discretely to those who will help you celebrate!

It would be simple to just use Photoshop on your computer and create your invitation. There are many free photos or clip art sites online that you can download some amazing images for your invitation. If the people are scattered about the office or out of the office you can easily send them an email or even a text message on their phone.

How about a memory theme of holidays past? You could ask all the guests to share a Christmas memory about your husband. This works well if the guests are from many parts of his life from siblings to school chums to work friends.
Assemble them all into a Christmas then scrapbook and then present it to him at the party.
If you have childhood photos of the Christmases of his youth, you could incorporate those into both the book and the decorations! Kind of like this is your life the last 50 years... Christmas style.
These type of memory books are cherished!

Why not plan an entire day for just the two of you (unless you have sibs who want to join)? Planning is half the fun, so why not you and he talk about all the options? Could be you making breakfast, could be a short (or long) road trip to someplace he's always wanted to go or go back to, could be lunch at a favourite place, could be a new adventure, could be a day at a theme park, could be a class of some kind where the two of you can learn something new together (particularly if he's looking for a new hobby), could be getting together with a few friends for (potluck) dinner ...? Have fun!
