13th Birthday Party Ideas for Boys

April 13, 2015

I know that all boys like to ruff and tumble, so how about a Nerf gun party. You could set up some targets at your home or a local park, or just shoot each other.

Wear safety glasses so you don't get shot in the eye. We had the rule of not shooting at their faces.

I think a slumber party would be a great idea. Shut your phones and TV off and play some old-fashioned board games, like Monopoly or Scrabble. And...have lots to eat and drink!

You can go to sky zone or gokarting

I'm turning 13 in less than a week and I beg you not to do this for your son because he probably won't find this entertaining neither will his friends

My son is having friends over for his birthday and they're going to watch a movie and order Popeye's. He doesn't know what else to with his friends and I can't think of anything else either.

Can you please help me with some cool and fun ideas?

Is there someplace close that they could go for an activity, such as soccer or basketball or whatever sport they all like? Boys of this age usually like to be active, so starting the festivities with something active might be nice. My sons always liked a swimming party.

Some guys also like to play board games or cards, which might be a good activity to start the party as well. Of course, video games are always an option, but if you have a crowd, many end up watching.

We did "Minute-to-Win-it games with my son & 12 of his friends. I bought all kinds of prizes (lanyards, pencils, water bottles, flashlights, stickers, etc...mostly all sports themes). The kids were 11 and they all LOVED it!!! I had about 6 other adults to help with the "game stations" with timers, etc. All of his friends & parents said it was the best party ever. I got the prizes on clearance and it really didn't cost too much.

If you can go outdoors, play a sport that is appropriate for the time of year. Boys have lots of energy!

My son is turning thirteen in July, I'm going to throw him a surprise birthday party, themed " Bulls basketball party" his favorite player is Derrick Rose. I'm going to rent a Moon Bounce, but I don't know what else I can do to entertain the kids, it's going to be a lot of kids so I didn't want to do a pinata. Any ideas?

If you have a big enough house then let him have a party at home. If hes a gamer then get him a system for his birthday and bring it out during the party for the kids to play. I'm 18 now and I remember my 13th like it was yesterday. My parents bought some fireworks! that's was so awesome I was so happy, another great idea if you can afford, they only got a few fire works but enough to make a little show. Kids love food!

If there is plenty of snacks for them they won't be disappointed. This may seem kind of out there, but it made us laugh so hard and we loved it, My mom bought two rolls of tuck tape and I the birthday girl stood on a chair against the wall while my friend taped me. They took away the chair and there I was, still hanging from the wall, struggling to get off. As a kid almost anything different is fun! We also blew up balloons and everyone sat on them, the first one to pop there balloon won. Water guns, so fun!

You should have some type of basketball shooting contest. Buy one of those portable baskets at Toys R Us and have a 3 point contest or something.

My son is turning 13. I am thinking of turning my whole yard into a huge carnival. Would he be to old for that?

A carnival party sounds fun, but 13 might be pushing it. The only way to know for sure is to ask your son. Carnival food (teens love walking tacos) and games (knocking down milk bottles, balloon/dart game, etc.) for "teen" prizes might be fun and no teen could resist if you fashioned some kind of dunk tank with mom or dad on the hot seat.
