A graduation party we attended had the cutest idea for decorating. The graduate was very athletic and had t-shirts from many activities she was involved in. Her t-shirts were hung on the fence like a clothes line in many sizes as she grew up. Lots of memories!

Any suggestions for an outdoor party celebrating 2 sisters,- 1 graduating high school and the other graduating college?
By Elaine D.
Seriously? Two separate parties for each grad. You could have three with one for both girls (a potluck BBQ to bring together the extended family) then the two separate parties.
Each grad should be able to host their closest friends in their own individual way - high school and college aged people are just in different places and trying to combine those two age groups is not going to be as much fun for either group.
And Mom (and Dad)? You should have your own party to celebrate the monumental achievement of getting both your grads through to graduation! An all adult-been there done that party is in order for you:) Congratulations and well done!
I have a graduation lunch to organise. Will the combination of the following colours be suitable: black, white, and silver?
By Nkefi R
Most people use the school colors.
Might want to incorporate school colors.
I am looking for ides for a college graduation party for a travel major? Any ideas on centerpieces for a college graduate?
By Momma C
My daughter is graduating in May with her Masters degree to be a CPA. I asked her what kind of theme she would like (I know she would think the graduation theme would not be for her (she's weird) She has a GPA of 4.0. She said jokingly she wanted a drunken theme. Of course, she knew I couldn't possibly come up with any ideas. She's right! Anyone have any ideas on this kind of theme. The beer and liquor will be flowing. I have arranged no one will drive that night. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What about making it more specific to one particular drink. Like a margarita party where you would serve all different kinds of margaritas For example you can have plain ones, frozen ones, flavored ones, frozen and flavored ones.
I am giving my daughter a college graduation party and I need help. The party is June 4, so I only have 6 weeks to get it together. I have rented our local hall to have the party at and the invitations have been ordered. There will be any where between 100 to 200 guests.
I am checking into what the cost is for a live band and for a DJ. That is all I have so far. I want to give her a nice party, however I am not rich, so I have to spend wisely. Can you give me some decorating ideals and types of food to serve for a lot of people, that is easy to prepare. I would also appreciate any other ideas anyone has that would make this a fun and memorable party. Thanks Bunches!

For food, sloppy joes, potato salad, pasta salad, cole slaw, pickles, cake, punch, coffee, tea. Decorations balloons. As a whole in my part of the country DJs are cheaper than live bands. I would have made the party an open house type affair that way you don't have to worry about entertainment. However, if the hall is large enough to have a dance, if you know people that have some games that you could borrow, I would do that. I'm referring to games such as "Corn Row"(that is what I have seen it referred to different places), what it is, is a slanted board with a hole in the raised end, and then you stand away from the low end and toss bean bags to try and get the bag through the hole. Where I live that is quite popular and then another one looks like ladders and comes with balls attached to each end of a rope and the player tosses that to try and get it over different rungs of a the ladder.
With games like these set up on one end of the room you wouldn't need a dance and even if you had to buy the games it would be considerably cheaper than a dance. When the apartment complex that I live in has the yearly picnic they have a couple of these set up and people of all ages try their hand at it. I don't know a whole lot about college graduation parties, they people that I know don't have college graduation parties, we believe there should only be one party and that is for high school graduation.
My son is graduating from high school, so we're planning a graduation party. Does anyone have ideas for an easy, inexpensive punch that would be either black or gold colored?
By LeaAnn from Mitchell, SD
Oh yes, Mitchell Kernels. My two daughters graduated from there many in the eighties. When my grandaughter graduated from high school in Sioux Falls, they served sloppy joes, potato salad, cole slaw, and I made a huge batch of pasta salad. Then they had the cake, coffee, tea, and they obtained one of those big coolers from McDonalds and served the orange drink that comes with the cooler. I can't remember how you get the large cooler, as to weather or not it is free or minimal charge. As far as the cake goes, you can just make a couple 9x13 cakes and frost them with gold colored frosting and then use black frosting and make some squiggles on the cakes.
Recipe for Gold colored punch
2 Pkgs. Kool Aid--orange and lemonade flavors
1-1/2 cups sugar 2 qts. water
1-12 oz. can frozen lemonade
1 can pineapple juice(I assume the large size)
ginger ale, 7-up, or squirt
Disslove Kool-Aid and sugar in water, add frozen lemonade and pineapple juice and mix well. Add the sodas when ready to serve.
We are planning a high school graduation party. I need some ideas for food and drinks that are easy and won't break the bank since I am on a budget.
My brother-in-law and I are graduating from the same college this May and are combining our graduation parties into one. He is a business major and I am a psychology major. We are on a budget and looking for suggestions.
By Trisha from MO
Can't you just have a get together with family and friends, instead of having a theme of some kind. The parties I have been to, people just have age together and visit. But then on the other hand the people that I know don't have graduation parties.
Hi, Trisha. My suggestion is a simple wine and cheese open house with coffee, tea, sodas and some chips and dips and finger sandwiches for those that don't want wine or cheese. :-) Open houses are great for several reasons:
#1 You set the time limit (1:00 - 5:00 or 7:00 - 11:00, or whatever works around the rest of your day), and the venue (your home or apartment) is already paid for via rent or mortgage.
#2 An open house gives your guests the opportunity to drop by as they can around other obligations they have for the day - and chances are, around graduation time, they have more than one party they've been invited to as well as just regular scheduling limitations they may have.
#3 The informal, casual atmosphere is comfortable and gracious for all of your guests. They don't have to worry about a new outfit or a theme they might feel obligated to adapt to.
#4 A simple open house needs no expensive decorations or themes or pretense, just a clean apartment or home to host the get-together.
#5 You are probably in enough debt after finishing a college degree program and wine, cheese, coffee, tea, sodas, chips and dips are inexpensive and appropriately modest for the celebration.
Good luck and congratulations to both of you on your graduations!
I am planning a group graduation party for me and my friends. We are all graduating from university under the Business Information System discipline. The idea is to have a BBQ at a farm. My friends and I are all party animals and are over 21. Please help.
Planning an outside party for a physician's assistant graduate in August. (in Texas) I have a pool and big backyard with trees. I haven't decided on menu for sure, I can cook smoked brisket and chicken ahead of time and I have a margarita machine. There will probably be about 50 people. Any "special" ideas from anyone out there?
By bonita from TX
Hi Bonita, Once I read your question, my mind started spinning with ideas. What a fun profession theme to throw a party for! I would for sure make it fun by sticking to the "medical theme" Maybe BBQ "ribs" and BBQ chicken "Thighs". How about sending the invitations on RX prescription sheets? You can make your own and just print them out on a computer. You can purchase a whole box of clear rubber gloves (not powder coated) at WalMart in the pharmacy section and fill them with snacks such as peanuts or pretzels.
You can also get paper surgical masks and footsies that you can do something with. How about the game "Operation"? just put it on one of the tables which would go with the theme and I bet you will find several people actually playing it throughout the day! You can also find plastic doctor kits in the toy section at Dollar Tree(or other dollar stores) that you can use in different ways.
How about thermometers on a "heart" shaped cake instead of candles? Maybe a group of you can chip in and buy the guest of honor a nice stethoscope for a gift?I was in the medical field for years and a good stethoscope is your best friend. Good luck and I'm sure your party will be a lot of fun! One more idea(see? my mind is running rapid!) Start saving empty aspirin bottles. Wash and dry.Poke holes in cap and use them for salt and pepper shakers on the tables?
