Caramel Corn Recipes

Bowl of caramel cornWhen making homemade carmel corn, try this! Wash your kitchen sink very well, I even spray it with a little rubbing alcohol and dry with a clean towel. Then cover your drain stopper with about 3 layers of foil (lay foil on top and form it around the stopper) and insert the stopper in the drain. Pour your popped corn in the sink, pour the caramel over it and mix. When you are done, all you have to do is clean the sink, it is big enough and it will not move while you are mixing.

Does anyone have a copycat recipe for Kernel Seasons caramel flavor popcorn seasoning? I enjoy it immensely at the movies, and it seems like it could be replicated at home somehow. I'd like to try a homemade version before buying the product. Any ideas?

I'm not sure about that seasoning you are mentioning, but you can make caramel corn yourself. Brown sugar is the key.

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup popcorn kernels.

Heat the oil and add 2 popcorn kernels. When they pop, add the sugar and popcorn kernels. You MUST keep shaking the pot otherwise your sugar will burn. Becareful, the sugar/caramel topping will be hot! It is so good and addicting. You can also use white sugar instaed of brown and add salt afterwards for kettle corn.

If it helps to know, these are the ingredients in Kernels Caramel Seasoning: Sugar, Brown Sugar, Natural Flavor, Caramel Color, and not more than 2% Silicon Dioxide, Tricalcium Phosphate and Soybean Oil added to prevent caking.
