Freezing Bread DoughKeep frozen bread dough on hand to save time. You can substitute the thawed dough for just about any yeast bread recipe. I use it for pizza dough (just thaw and roll), sweet rolls, roll out thawed dough,spread with butter sprinkle with brown or white sugar, cinnamon, nuts and raisins. Roll like jelly roll, slice and place in buttered pan that has been sprinkled with brown sugar.

Let rise and bake at 350 for about 25 minutes. Super easy and great for the holidays. You can also spread with cherry pie filling, roll and cut, place in greased pan. But when they are done drizzle with a confectioner sugar glaze. Yum!

You can use the dough for homemade herb bread, just roll thawed dough into a rectangle, spread with butter or margarine, sprinkle with your favorite herbs, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese. Roll up as for bread, and bake in a greased pan let rise about 30 minutes or so and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes.

You can make stromboli, calzones (spread ricotta cheese, then sliced ham, then pepperoni, fold in half and seal edges. I spray Pam on top sprinkle with garlic powder and bake. We dip it in spaghetti sauce, ohhhh, yum, its so good and SO much cheaper then eating out.

Shirley, yes I freeze my homemade bread dough. I make it in the bread machine, set on dough and when it is finished I take out and put in pans according to what I want, I make mostly rolls, so I freeze in cupcake pans then move over to freezer bags, that way I can take one or 12 out at a time to bake. You can also freeze in the bread pans, just would take longer to defrost for the 2nd rise. I then bake. I have a wonderful recipe from a cookbook in the 40's, that I make my yeast rolls from and it works very well in my breadmaker, if you are interested, I will post.

I love the taste of homemade bread, but don't have a bakery in town. I'd like to make bread dough in advance, freeze, and bake as I need it.

Can all bread dough be frozen for future use? I like to make honey wheat bread from scratch, which has no white flour. At what point can I freeze the dough for future use? Also, can you make rolls out of your favorite bread recipe or dough?

I freeze bread dough before the final rising. Make sure it is wrapped securely in plastic wrap then in foil. Write the date on it. When taking out of the freezer let it thaw, then place it in pan and let it rise in a warm place. Then bake as directed.

Yes you can make rolls from bread dough. Just form dough into equal size ball. let rise and bake.
