They were made for us at our high school in the late 70s. I have not been able to match them. I would love to have the recipe. Thank you in advance! I live in Arizona, but I went to in school Pennsylvania.

How about this but use butterscotch pudding in place of the vanilla?
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter
2/3 cup milk
2 (1.5 oz.) boxes of vanilla pudding mix
3-1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Melt the butter and sugar together over medium-high heat. Bring it to a boil and let it boil, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.
I would just take a bag of butterscotch chips and melt them. Then mix enough oatmeal in to make it stiff. Then roll out into little balls.
I was born in PA and now live in AZ too.

I found many recipes for butterscotch oatmeal no-bake cookies by using my search engine. One that sounded good to me was at www.recipelion.com/Cookies/No-Bake-Butterscotch-Oatmeal-Cookies it was made using instant butterscotch pudding. Another one using butterscotch chips was at www.food.com/recipe/butterscotch-cookies-no-bake-101802
I hope you find one that tastes like you remember. I'm also in Pennsylvania and I think I remember these cookies, too. I thought they were made with brown sugar.
Try this and use google search for tons of variations!
