Making an Evergreen Garland

I need to make multiple evergreen swags. I would like to cut them around November 21st and deliver them the first week in December. If I put them in water would that help?

To make a pine garland, use heavy twine that is a little longer than the length to be covered. Cut lengths of pine (any variety) or any evergreen type of bush, also have a roll of florist wire.
