This is a recipe that I got from my mother over 40 years ago. She called them drop sugar cookies, so I renamed them this year. These are crispy cookies that melt in your mouth. Almost every time I take them to a potluck party, I am asked for the recipe.

Everyone knows Davy always wore a raccoon hat, so his mommy made him raccoon tails when he came home!
These are easy and exactly like store-bought Mrs. Fields cookies.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cream together shortening, sugar, and brown sugar. Mix in egg, then buttermilk and vanilla.
With just three simple ingredients, you can make "shortcut" cinnamon sugar cookies. A fast and easy way to make some cookies, makes a nice little treat for the kids (adults too!).
Cream together first 6 ingredients. Mix rest of ingredients and form into balls 2 inches in diameter. Roll in sugar and flatten on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 10 minutes.
These cookies are very easy to make and tasty, too. Very nice and soft.
Combine first 3 ingredients; set aside. Cream margarine in a medium bowl; slowly add sugar, beating until fluffy. Add egg, beating. Stir in vanilla. Add flour mixture, stirring until blended.
Sift together in a bowl the flour, soda, cream of tartar, salt and powdered sugar. Cut in butter with pastry blender. Beat vanilla and egg together; add. Dough will be fairly soft...
Make into small balls. Flatten with glass. Apply granulated or colored sugar with bottom of glass at the same time. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet...
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg in mixing bowl. Cut in butter to make crumbly, like pie crust. Beat eggs; add sugar, milk and vanilla.
Combine butter, sweetener and eggs, beating until fluffy. Soak raisins in enough boiling water to cover. In a separate bowl, sift flour and soda. Add dates and walnuts to the flour. Then add drained raisins, reserving the liquid.
Add sugar to shortening and make fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add cream and flavoring. Stir in flour sifted with soda and salt. Mix well. Makes a nice drop or rolled cookie.
Butter has become scarce these days. I wish to make cookies, but all I have left is a small piece of butter and some leftover buttercream from my previous cake orders. I don't want to waste the frosting so I decided to make cookies out of it.
