Mix everything together in order given just until combined. In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup oil and drop by tablespoon into hot oil and fry until browned on both sides.
Fill a deep fat fryer or skillet with oil to a 2 inch depth. Heat to 375 degrees F. Meanwhile, combine milk and egg in a mixing bowl.
