Recycle your old CD cases and make an organizer. We made a Father's Day organizer for my husband. I placed photos of the kids on each side and let them decorate their own page. We placed a poem on a blank side. You can use this organizer for many things. You can even place the cds back inside of the organizer. It would make a great Christmas gift for grandparents etc. We even made on for the teacher for Earth Day.
You need 5 empty CD cases and some hot glue. Start with one case on the bottom and glue each side one at a time. Be sure you can open the case cover as you glue it to the bottom. When you are done gluing, open each case and add decorative paper or photos etc.

Take an old CD case and flip it open and stick tape on it to hold open. Then you can stick your recipe in it for easy access.

I was trying to figure out what to do with all the empty jewel cases I had lying around. I noticed that if you removed the spool, it leaves enough room for paper quilled pieces made with 1/8 inch or smaller paper strips.
Ever wonder how to re-use the containers that you buy your CDs or DVDs in? Well, we use them to hold our music CDs, instead of going out and buying a CD case of some sort!
When you get all of those annoying "free internet discs" in the mail, always keep the holder that the disc came in.
Here's a cute tip for the frugal and festive folks: Use CD jewel cases as coasters for special occasions. Purchase seasonal/holiday cocktail napkins at a discount from the dollar store after the season has passed, insert them into empty jewel cases, and change with the occasions.
I still need a lot of empty CD cases, but only the wide plastic ones. I am willing pay 5 cents for each one. Per 100 would be $5.00. I can use at least 400 to start with, and I will pay for shipping too. Any ideas where I might find some? Thanks.

Try to go to CD rentals they might have empty CD case there, or in the stores who sells CD's and DVD's. If you don't mind is it for what?
Does anyone have directions to make a pencil holder using CD cases to put pictures in? I would love to have my friend's children make it for her and her husband this Christmas. Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you were looking for: craftchi.com/
You could adapt it and put pics in the front of the cd case instead of doing the image transfers I would think.
In the same vein there is: cd case coasters

or calendars rubberstamping.about.com/
or photo frames www.craftelf.com/
Kaelle's first link craftchi.com/
is the best for what I think you're looking for but use a hot glue gun instead of tape for it to look more professional. Also, you don't need to do the transfers like she's showing, just simply glue your photos on to poster board that has already been cut to fit inside each CD case and slide in to place :-)
I have about 700 empty CD jewel cases left over from a software business. Do you know of anyone who can use them?

make em into photo frames??
trim your photo/picture to CD inlay size, slot it in the front of the case, tape a bit or ribbon to the back so you can hang it up.
They make great picture frames :)
You just open up insert a decorated border or quotes or a picture and close. add a magnet to the back and voila a frame for the front of the fridge ! Or add hook and eye closer and then you can use on office cubicle wals .. or glue a picture hanger on the back and hang on the wall.
you could also glue a few to ribbon and make a long decoration with all the families pictures in it for the wall .. very Victorian (?) with a modern twist :)
Best of luck!
