A great way to extend the life of a candle is by putting it in the freezer for a day right before you use it. Keeping the wax cool will make it burn slowly. When you're done burning the candle and you're left with a waxy mess on your candleholder, pop the holder in the freezer for about an hour, then you can chip the wax right off.
