I have a previously frozen pumpkin pie and was wondering if it could be refrozen?
It is not recommended to refreeze. I cut a pie into slices, and wrap each individually and then freeze. I then take out what I need. I do this with cake, too.
It can be refrozen, but the quality will not be like fresh. Pumpkin pie tends to separate and the crust gets gummy. Personally, I would not do it for these reasons. Now, if our intention is to use it at a later date for something like mixing in a blender with ice cream to create a pumpkin pie milk shake, that may work.
