The best way to clean a granite sink. Scrub lightly using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser, it takes seconds. Rinse and dry, and your sink will look fabulous!
My tip is an alternative to bleach to clean stains on your counter top. Buy the "magic erasers" at the dollar store. They take off blackberry juice stains faster and easier than bleach and are much safer to use around kids and pets.
A lot of people have mentioned using the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to effectively clean otherwise difficult to remove stains. What have you cleaned successfully with this new cleaning tool?
Crayon, dirt, or scuff marks on your painted walls? Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is a miracle worker! Just wet the sponge and erase. Also works on doors, baseboards, glass tabletops, car windshield, leather shoes, etc.

Where do you get a 'white eraser sponge'? And what is it?

Magic Eraser is a product made by the same company as Mr. Clean. You get it in the cleaning aisle where floor cleaners and sink cleaners are sold, in a grocery store, or place like Walmart. There are also generic brands that are sold in places like dollar stores. It is a smooth white sponge that is slightly abrasive. It seems very soft, but it cleans things like soap scum extremely well or marks on painted walls. It disintegrates fairly quickly with use.
I was told by my home health nurse to be very careful with these sponges. She treated a toddler who had gotten hold of one. Toddler had washed themselves with the sponge & ended up with 2nd degree burns.
A Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works great! They are also good if you get tanning lotion or spray on your hands and they turn orange.
I found that the Magic Erasers from the Dollar Stores are a quarter price of those from the regular supermarkets. They also last every bit as long if not longer.
Has anyone tried to use a Magic Eraser without getting it wet? What did you use it on? What were the results?
Thanks.
i believe the chemistry behind the Magic Eraser is the reason it works better if slightly wet. That said, it can be used dry for the same types of cleaning but does a better job if is wet.
Procter & Gamble says the key to the Magic Erasers stain-fighting properties is in its water-activated microscrubbers. But theres nothing water-activated about itthe eraser can be used dry as well as wet, with little difference in the result. Water likely makes it easier for dirt to cling to the eraser, thoughthe same way you might wet a paper towel before wiping down a wall or table.

Here is a link with lots of suggestion (and cautions) on using the magic eraser.

The directions on the Magic Eraser website specifically say to use water:

You just get all the ink off clean with water.. Not using it smudges it around a bit, even if you can't totally see it
I bought this mini food chopper at the thrift store. It was 75% less than anything I had seen retail, so I decided to take it home and clean it up, since it worked well.
I got some wood puzzles for my granddaughter on Freecycle. One puzzle had a lot of crayon marks on it. A knock-off Magic Eraser made it look like new in a couple of minutes.
Take a Magic Eraser and cut it across the short side, into half-inch wide fingers. To clean glasses, rinse them with water or Windex, then wipe them with a Magic Eraser finger.
What is a Magic Eraser that is recommended for cleaning glass dishes? I live in Scotland.
Thanks.
Hi,
They are melamine sponges with a cleaning agent which is inside them. When you use them, they become smaller and smaller until they disappear. If you want to make your own, you can.
You can buy melamine sponges on ebay and spray them or sprinkle them with baking soda and water to clean dishes the same way as Magic Erasers will clean dishes.
Blessings,
Robyn
Magic Eraser is a sponge with formaldehyde and other cleaning agents. It does a great job. However, dont use it on painted surfaces.
