Soften yeast in lukewarm water; set aside. Add shortening, sugar and salt to scalded milk; cook to lukewarm. Add enough flour to make a thick batter. Add yeast and eggs and beat well. Add enough more flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out on floured area and knead. Place in greased bowl; cover and let rise until double. Punch down and shape into dinner rolls or cinnamon rolls. Let rise until at least double in size. Bake at 350 degrees F until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes.
