Store saltine or any kind of cracker in freezer to keep them nice, fresh, and crisp until used.

I love saltine crackers, but lately I am having a terrible time storing them. I do not over buy. I buy a new box and store them in a sealed storage bag when I open the first sleeve. I have tried the glass storage containers, and putting in a slice of bread or an apple.
Within a week, the saltines have a horrible smell and taste. I am very frustrated with constantly throwing my crackers out to the birds. Any solution will be greatly appreciated.

Freeze them and take out when you need them. I have a Tupperware cracker keeper, but I'm not sure if they make it anymore.
I've tried everything to keep saltine crackers fresh including storing them in an airtight container, doesn't work. I believe the only way to keep them fresh would be to vacuum seal them.
I place a Eva Dry desiccant (with electric regeneration) in the plastic cracker container which keeps the humidity around 25% (nice and crisp) while the room today is a humid summer 70%
Heres an idea. Eat them! Weeks, you save them for weeks? Really?
Why would you want to eat and eat crackers all at once, I would get sick of them. We only eat them with our chili, which is about 3 times a month in the winter. I keep them in a tightly sealed tin and they last for months.
I just threw away a plastic storage container for saltines . It smelled terrible. I'm looking at ceramic or even tin storage containers. I remember my grandmother having a tin storage container for crackers. Funny how something old becomes new.
