If it recently happened, use cold water to wash it out with soap. you're going to have to use some kind of tide pen or special wash to get it out if you just let it sit there.

Try white vinegar. It has worked for me in removing wine stains. Using soap may set the stain to be permanent.

I had red wine stains on white cotton capris. I used a combo of things - not all at the same time - so I don't know which ones worked the best. I would first try white wine - soak the stain well with it and rub in. I soaked my capris in cold water in between various treatments. Use considerable wine, as you are trying to lift the stain. I also used Hydrogen peroxide, but I don't know if it was before or after the wine.

I laundered my pants in good quality detergent, Tide, in cold water, with other stain removers, such as Shout and Oxi clean, and bleach in the wash water. My pants were white, so I could use bleach. It took several washings and stain treatments, cold water only, and no drying in between. Be persistent. You can get it out!

If you have a wine stain on your shirt, stretch your fabric over a bowl, cover the stain with salt and carefully pour boiling water over it. This will remove your stain.

from Martha Stewart: "Wet the stain with luke-warm water, then add a layer of table salt. Rub, & let it sit for 5 minutes. Pull fabric taut across a heat-proof bowl, & secure with a rubber band.

Place in sink, and carefully pour boiling water on the stain from a height of 3 feet. The combined pressure & heat of the water will eliminate the stain. "

I would try oxyclean. It works great on lots of stains. I run enough hot water in the washer to dissolve about 5 big scoops of oxyclean (the amount I use for a full load) then fill the rest of the washer with cold water. Add the clothes as the washer fills and let agitate for about 10 minutes. I then let soak overnight. Run through the full cycle the next day and then I run it through a full cycle with regular detergent. Good luck.

About 35 years ago when I was in my 20's and going out dancing a lot, I was a red wine drinker. I sometimes ended up spilling more wine than I drank.

A friend of mine told me how to get red wine out of my white sweater coat.

When I was in my 20s, I seemed to spill a lot of red wine on myself. I had a long, white, cardigan sweater I wore all the time, and sometimes I would end up with red wine on it. One day an elderly woman I worked with told me to put white wine on the red wine stain.

My daughter had red wine spilled on her fuzzy white sweater. It dried in. The cleaner said it was ruined. I believe it can be saved.
Help.

I used sprite and cold water. Worked great, but I've also seen where salt and club soda work. Also a product called zote works as well - came out of my sons golf sweater like a charm with sprite and zote.

The zote was .97 at Wal-Mart :} good luck!
