Parade Float Ideas

March 15, 2020

Any ideas for a great outdoors themed parade not just the usual fishing and hunting themes. I need something unique, this is a small town parade. Anyone with any good ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

You could tie in lots of flowers ,plants, veggies, farming equipment, farm animals, horses, etc. Everyone could wear white shirts/tee shirts and blue jeans with straw hats, boots to complete the look!

You could go with a camping theme and tie in a forest/woodland theme and woodland animals.

Go with an ecology theme. We all need to be aware of the environment around us and what we plant and use around our home. I would work with gardening and growing your own food. Organic gardening is a great way to present an outdoor theme for your parade.

If you are looking for something other than this you can dry backpacking, survival camping, hicking tips and safety guide, water spots such as boating, skiing, and tube riding.

I wonder if you're even having much of a parade now, as everything seems to be closed up

Be that as it may, maybe a nice astronaut theme would work. That is technically out of doors, in outer space. Have everyone dress as astronauts, throw sparkles to be like stars, make vehicles into spaceships, etc. This would be particularly useful if you were in an area like Huntsville AL or other with a NASA presence

You could do a whole tribute to the change from the paper dollar to the coin that happened in that year! Decorate the float in fake bills and coins.

Or you could pick a song that was popular that year...or a group...

Like wasn't that the year that Milli Vanilli was called out for lip syncing...you could have a whole float with people dressed as the duo (I know they were not Canadian but lip syncing is fun)!

Or you could always go old school with a hockey tribute or a tribute to Niagara falls or all of the wonderful Canadian rock stars over the years.

Post back with what you decide!

You could create a float with a 1989 movies theme such as The Little Mermaid or Batman or 1989 TV shows such as The Simpsons or Seinfeld.

My new Direct Primary Care clinic is entered into our small town parade next weekend. Any cool ideas for a float or some other fun way to participate?

Make costumes of common instruments found at health care places: Stethoscope, old style thermometer, sphygmomanometer, syringe, urine cup, medicine capsule, etc. Would be very cute to wear in a parade.

Next weekend?
Such short length of time will probably require very simple ideas.
Since Direct Primary Care clinics treat patients of all ages you might be able to set up a short float/trailer if someone has one available or possibly rent one (and a truck/tractor to pull it).

Not sure if there is time to order or make a long banner for the sides so you might have to do some thinking on what to use to identify your float.

You could maybe set up 2 or 3 'scenes' each representing a different age group.
Suggestions:
1.) Infant/children: (use dolls or babies) dressing table/baby bed or small table with nurse/doctor talking with a child.
2.) Senior: patient with doctor/nurse describing a 'condition' (x-ray/chart/large picture) that may need 'fixing'.
3.) Patient: sitting in chair having consolation with doctor/nurse.
Computer?

Hope it works out and everyone has fun.

Yikes! Next week does not give a lot of time! How about something simple...like poster board with your logo, your website and tag line for all to see. You can have your team sit in a convertible car and hold up the signs and wave. Perhaps you could hand out something health related along the route if you are permitted to walk beside your car or float.

That is way to short a time to have a professional product--but with labels you may be able to customize small bottles of hand sanitizer for example, or packages of a wet wipe to the crowd with your company name, logo, phone and website.

Post back what you decide!

Have everyone dress up as something medical: doctor, nurse, bandaid, stethoscope. Have a posterboard painted with a Red Cross. Good luck.

I work for a credit union and we have been invited to join a local parade. We're all searching for ideas to add to the float. We want the name of our company on the float and we want to involve the crowd. Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
