Making a Bulletin Board

April 25, 2007

Bulletin BoardGot an old paint canvas lying around? Perhaps from a botched painting attempt? Don't toss 'em! One great way to recycle these is this:

Cover complete canvas with somewhat heavy material. Staple to the back of canvas. Hot glue ribbons in diagonal criss-crossing lines, attaching a decorative button where the ribbons intersect.

This creates an extremely useful, not to mention attractive, memo/picture board!

Wait! If you paint you can cover the canvas with gesso and paint over it. Artists do this all the time because canvas is expensive.
