Stock Up When Groceries Are On Sale

One thing I do is watch the grocery store flyers to find items that I think is a good price. I watch prices real close, I may have a coupon , maybe not. Say they have a can of refried beans for 79 cents, if it's a generic can. I might pick up 4 or 5 cans. If it's a name brand, I may or may not have a coupon, and I pick up a few cans; that's only about $3.00. I take those home, do it that way for a few items and I have a stash at home.

I do this kind of shopping for all my groceries and clothes. You'd be surprised at how soon you have shelves of groceries at your house. You need something? You have it! What's $3.00 for a few groceries on your shelf, you would generally spend $3.00 on some insignificant something, and you can still have your Coke when you want it.

I do this too, and sometimes I can skip grocery-shopping for a week, which also saves money on gasoline. I especially try to store up on basics, like flour, sugar, coffee, tea, rice, noodles, canned goods, chocolate. One year I found toilet paper and kleenex on sale and bought enough for a whole year.

You have found the secret to thriftiness, my friend. Never pay full price for anything.

Also, here in PA residents usually stock up on staples in the fall. That way they dont need to leave the house in bad weather to pick something up. They already have it on hand.

My father always said, "Its not how much money you make, but how you spend the money you have." I believe that is true. Because no matter how much money one earns, they always want more.

I love the clearance section at Walmart. Just the other day, I bought 2 bottles of OLAY body wash for only 3.00 a piece! (Upon further investigation, I looked at the price of other OLAY body washes and they were at least 6.00 a piece). I'm only assuming that the two that I purchased were discontinued or were slow to sell!) When items like that are cheap, I stock up. I've purchased Secret deodorants for a mere 2.00, again on the clearance rack. Using a coupon ON TOP of clearance is a great idea as well.

I have a nice stock pile of body washes/deodorants etc. Some people may call it hoarding, but the way I look at it, you can never have too many of the above items!
