Oh, how I love when the day's fresh donuts get boxed up and put back out on the store floor for 25 cents a piece. You can make these scrumptious donut chips by drying them out, slicing them thin, and popping them in the oven.
How to Thoroughly Clean a Coffee Carafe
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I make coffee and put it in a carafe. It keeps it hot then warm, but I nuke it when I want a fresh cup. But coffee has a tendency to stain plastic, so before I donated it, I wanted to clean it good. For a long time, I didn't know how to clean all the pieces parts. When I realized you take the bottom off, then you can take out the silver inner parts and clean it all.
Making Sure Cats Get Enough Water
By Jess
A couple of years ago, my older cat was diagnosed with chronic renal failure. He was very dehydrated and weak and would regularly vomit up his food. The vet gave him a subcutaneous water treatment and prescribed him special food for renal support but warned us that it was not a cure, just a way to keep him as stable as possible for the next few years.

I like low sugar recipes, and I always post my successes. This has an optional cinnamon sugar topping, which will post but did not use to save calories.
DIY Windshield Defroster and Water Repellent
By attosa
You don't need to buy expensive window treatment solutions to repel rain, nor do you have to spend your whole morning trying to scrape ice off your car windows before you go to work. All you need is a spray bottle, rubbing alcohol, and water. Save time and money!

I realized I do not need the cable box as long as I have wifi to stream from the app to my smart TVs. I turned in both of my cable boxes, saving $15.00 a month in the rental fees. Also, there are no more ugly cable wires cluttering up the back of the TV.

I love turning leftovers into new meals in the following days, and this fried rice is one of my favourites! You can use any meat, veggies, and rice you have left over to make a new meal that tastes nothing like it used to. I used leftover ham and rice from Thanksgiving, and used up the rest of the veggies I had in the drawers.

Our neighbors think we are very odd people when we save grass clippings, leaves, discarded fruit and veggie peels, and now shredded newspaper clippings.

Sometimes the best homemade teas don't involve steeping dried tea leaves. This version uses fresh slices of fruit, cinnamon and rose petals. It's quick and easy, and it tastes and smells absolutely divine.

Remove sticky grease from appliances or walls easily. How? With the same oil that was used to cook and make the area sticky. No detergent, or heavy scrubbing. Hope you find this out too.

Sleeping in the living room has it's perks. The dark side of that is I like things to look nice should someone show up to visit and for me, too.

If you are like me, you have used every cream and lotion available. After a visit to my dermatologist, I was told to go back to Vaseline. Yes, it is a little messy, but the real question is, how much do you want soft skin?
Stop the Drip of Laundry Detergent
By Deborah S.
I store my large laundry detergent dispenser and my fabric softener dispenser in a cabinet over my washing machine. No matter how careful I am, the spout drips inside my cabinet and makes an awful mess. The blue fabric softener is even worse.

Fresh vegetables sometimes get soft or soggy before we use them, right? Spinach always does and bell peppers often do. Even celery gets limp after a while, particularly for those of us who buy it by the bunch. What to do so as not to waste hard-earned money? Freeze those veggies.

Dealing with A Broken Shoulder
By Mina
Four months ago, my feet went out from under me when I walked on a glazed concrete garage floor that had become wet from rain. I landed on my shoulder and knew from the crack I heard that I''d broken it. X-ray confirmed that I had a fractured proximal humerus bone.

Removing Ink Stains from Your Coach Purse

There are a lot of cute ways to document how fast your little one grows in the first year. For our son, we took a picture each month on our sofa, joined by a stuffed gorilla (for scale) and a printed piece of paper with his age.
Clean Walls with Vinegar and Ammonia
By perfectlyflawed412
I'm currently cleaning an estate, and this is PROOF that nicotine can be washed off of the walls with vinegar, and ammonia. I didn't even use the baking soda with the concoction! :) Also, if you use a Scotch-Brite Dobie, it works much better than just using a rag! Happy cleaning!

A friend of mine, for as long as I can remember, would say, "A loaf of bread costs what it costs, and you can eat only so much bread. Why would you buy more bread then you could ever use?". In my younger years I would chuckle to myself.
