I am a 66 year old woman living in Omaha, Nebraska with my husband. I have 2 grown children and he has 2 from our previous marriages. We have 4 grandchildren. I have 2 cats (I adore cats!), 3dogs, 2 parakeets and 2 fresh water fish aquariums. I have a passion for flower gardening. Since I retired I have more time to enjoy flower gardening.

Flower Gardening in a Small Space - painted hanging pots on chain link fence with terra cotta pots inside

Flower Gardening in a Small SpaceIf you have a fence and no yard space, these hanging pots are the answer! I bought mine from the Lillian Vernon catalogue, but I imagine places like eBay and Amazon have them too. These pots were all yellow when I got them and I spray painted them. They all have drain holes, but I choose to just put pots into them.

Completed Ladybug Rocks

Ladybug RocksI saw cute painted ladybugs on Pinterest and decided to make some. I live by a landscape/ mulch yard and bought stones the sizes I needed. I think you can buy rocks at hobby stores too.

Making a Mini Fairy Garden

Making a Mini Fairy GardenA clay pot, a few plants, a 25 cent fairy from Goodwill, some potting soil, Popsicle sticks for a fence and some fairy garden items from a craft store and the result is a cute little fairy garden which was fun and easy to make! I plan on doing it again this spring. Some people like to make gnome gardens.

painted clay pot with bluebird decal and silver ribbon

Painted Clay PotSo easy, a much prettier way to display my orchid, and not time consuming to do. All you need is a clay pot and saucer, small bottle of acrylic paint, sponge brush, and rub on decals. Add a bit of ribbon if desired.

Protecting Clothespin Bag Left on Clothesline - dog food bag slipped over clothespin bag

Protecting Clothespin Bag Left on ClotheslineSoon begins the hanging laundry on the line season. I have a very nice cloth monogrammed bag that I like to keep hanging on the clothesline right where I need it. To protect it from the rain and sun I found a simple solution. After I emptied a large birdseed bag I cleaned it out and cut a hole in the top, slipped it over the bag and it is well protected with ease.

Dog Potty Clean Up Station - old wooden box used for poop bag dispenser outside

Dog Potty Clean Up StationI found this wood box at the thrift store and then it set in my garage for 2 years. I knew one day it would come to mind what to use it fo. I am not sure what it was, maybe a box to hold a candle, it has a door that swings open and a hole in one end.
