I am a married, working grandma. My husband is retired on disability and I would like to be able to retire in a few more years, so being frugal is important to me.

Try De-Solv-It. I have removed sap from a lot of my grandson's clothes with this.

If it's totally black it may have a condition called "melanism" which is the opposite of albinism. Instead of a lack of pigmentation, there is an excess.

This is a good way to reheat left-over french fries, too.

They make nice storage containers in the kitchen. On the Folger's website you can print decorative labels to cover up the advertising and make the container appropriate for Christmas or other holidays. http://www.folg n-decorator.aspx

I once inherited a photo album from a heavy smoker and had the same problem. I put it in a big zip-loc bag with some baking soda. After about a week the odor was gone. You might try this with just a skein or two first to see if it works. You can put the soda in a little cup and set it upright so it doesn't get all over the yarn. Worth a try.

I don't know if this would help with starchy potato peels but once many years ago a dish cloth slipped down the garbage disposal without my noticing it. When I turned the disposal on it got stuck. I poured straight bleach in and left it to eat away at the dish cloth. A couple of hours later I ran the water and turned the disposal back on. Success.
