No Room for the Monster Under the Bed
We found an easy and pretty inexpensive way to solve the problem of being scared that something was under the bed. We found under the bed storage containers at the discount store, but really any will do.
Cleaning Hair Ties
Here is an easy way to keep your hair ties clean. Once a month or so place all of your hair ties, aka elastics and cloth headbands in a dirty sock. Tie the top of the sock into a knot and toss it in with the rest of your wash.
Buy Egg Dye Kit with Plastic Cups
I know that it costs a bit more than the .99 cent egg dye, but trust me the cups themselves last a long time. We bought the egg dyeing kit that came with the egg cups five years ago, and they are still in perfect condition.
ABC Me Alphabet Game
A inexpensive game you can create for your students who need some help learning how to put words in alphabetical order.
Koko (Shiba Inu)
Koko is a Shiba Inu puppy that we got last December. We had our other Shiba Inu Abby for 14 years before we lost her to cancer. We named her Koko because the breed is from Japan and the name seemed to fit.
Creating Your Own Cheap Double Boiler
Instead of buying a double boiler for twenty dollars or more, I used a skillet that I found at Goodwill for the part that holds my candle wax or soap pieces. The skillet cost me two dollars. I use an old pot from Goodwill, another two dollars, for the base.
Peroxide to Whiten Teeth
My mom told me that you can dip your wet tooth brush into a bottle of peroxide, then brush your teeth with it. Over time, your teeth will become much whiter. Just don't swallow the peroxide.
Use Sharpie to Decorate Fabric
Do you have a child or teen's birthday coming up? How about a church youth group? Here is something we did that youth of all ages enjoy. We bought a package of colored Sharpies.
Uses for Old Underwear
I have found that clean old underwear makes a great dust cloth. The soft cotton dose not scratch furniture and it saves money. I also use them instead of paper towels when I clean windows and glass.
Cat Cat (Domestic Short Hair)
Cat Cat is 8 in human years and a Domestic Short Hair. He was part of the family I live with. He likes to explore the great outdoors. He also loves water and playing in the tub after I have taken a shower.
Scenery: Botanical Gardens (Gulf Shores, Alabama)
Photos I took while at the Botanical Gardens in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Use Damp Newspaper to Clean Windows
If you have run out of window cleaner, use a damp newspaper. They work really well and do not streak the glass. Be sure you only use it on glass and do not use newspaper with colored print on it.
Summer Fun: Kids Newspaper
If your kids are wanting something fun to do this summer, have them start their own paper. They can interview the neighbors that they know, and write stories about their own life.
Girl's Fashion Show to Clean Out Closet
Here is a fun way to get your girls ages 7 and up to clean out their closest. Hold a "Fashion" show, where they model each of their summer/winter outfits.
Abby Boo (Sheba Inu)
Abby Boo is turning 13 on July 4th of this year. She is a Sheba Inu. My parents got her from a breeder when she was a year old. Abby likes to take walks in the woods by our house. She loves to run around the house chasing some invisible creature.
Prescription Bottles for Travel Size Toiletries
Instead of buying travel sized bottles of shampoo and other things, at our house we used old prescription medicine bottles. They ones with the kid proof lid from Walgreen's can hold liquids without leaking. It saves a lot of money and helps the environment too.
