She is so beautiful. I found a kitten trapped in a well we named Captain Jack. He only had one functional eye, hence the captain part. My whole family fell in love with him. After many failed vet visits to cure his everlasting sickness, my mother and I found out he was FIV positive and had to put him down. He still lives so deeply in our hearts. Your story of finding your kitty reminded me of finding mine and all the good memories that came along with it. (=

I always marinate my corn before I cook it. Keep the corn in the husks and and some herbs(garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, seasoned salt, pepper, chili powder, etc.) whatever you have on hand, then add enough water to cover the corn. Then either grill it or bake it with some water and foil. You can marinate it for up to a week if you change out the water every couple days. Comes out sooooo good. I always husk them then add a little Parmesan and butter, I always get compliments on it.

My ice cream shop is family owned and for banana splits they just use Styrofoam hot dog holders and they work great! If you can find those, they are awesome!

Is your smoke detector also a carbon monoxide detector? I know with our smoke detectors the beep for a low battery is different than a beep for an alarm. My mother-in-law had a man come out for her stove and he said she had a severe gas leak, but nobody could smell it, but him, so it might be that and you just can't smell it.

My cat had something very similar. He limped on it, but it was not red, it was almost black and it was in between his toes. My vet said it was a simple, very common infection and gave me some medication for under $20. It was gone a little under a week later.
